For more than 25 years CCVI has held the event that includes dozens of plastic eggs with a battery powered beeper inside so the children can easily search for the hidden treasure.

CALIFORNIA — Crew Creates Fire Breaks: A San Bernardino County hand crew create fire breaks to contain smoldering debris in the Mojave River bottom between Apple Valley, Calif., and Victorville, on Wednesday. San Bernardino County Fire spokeswoman Tracey Martinez said Wednesday that the 185-acre blaze is chewing through heavy growth in a Mojave riverbed that hasn’t burned for years.
