What’s Up on Fifth Avenue: Eagle Provisions’ owners sold their building to a developer
Eye On Real Estate
Brace yourselves, kielbasa lovers.
Popular South Slope Polish grocer Eagle Provisions plans to close on June 4.
Shop owners Richard and John Zawisny sold the building the store occupies, 628 Fifth Ave., through their company R.S.V. Real Estate Corp. for $7.5 million in March, city Finance Department records show.
Eagle Provisions, which sells interesting foods from Poland and all over Europe including homemade hickory-smoked kielbasa, will be mourned most of all by tipplers who appreciated its staggeringly extensive stock of 2,500-plus varieties of beer.
