EGYPT — Supporters Protest Morsi’s Sentence: An Egyptian youth carries a lit flare as supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood gather in the El-Mataria neighborhood of Cairo to protest the 20-year sentence for ousted president Mohammed Morsi and verdicts against other prominent figures of the Brotherhood on Friday. Morsi was convicted of using force against protesters and sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday, the first verdict against him since he was removed by the military nearly two years ago.
RHODE ISLAND — ‘Dill’ the Seal Makes His Way Down the Beach: A 1-2 year old male harp seal named “Dill” makes his way down the sands of Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown after being release by Mystic Aquarium’s Marine Animal Rescue Team Thursday. Dill was rescued March 11 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine by Marine Mammals of Maine and transferred to Mystic for rehabilitation. Treatment for dehydration and stomach parasites brought Dill from about 62-pounds to over 75-pounds at release.
