SKETCHES OF COURT: Brooklyn defendants found fully liable in SoHo rear-end collision case
In this courtroom sketch, Hon. Debra Silber and attorneys listen as court reporter Esther Spielman complies with the jury’s request for a read-back of testimony in the motor vehicle accident trial Jenuz Radoncic, Mensur Kukaj & Kreshnik Kukaj v. Balbir Singh, Petrit Kuka & Aloha Luxury Rentals that took place last week in Kings County Civil Term.
At issue in the bifurcated trial was the determination of liability. The accident occurred in SoHo on West Street between Laight and Vestry streets on a weekday afternoon in September 2012. The plaintiffs, represented by Jeffrey Guzman (third from right) of the law firm Krentsel & Guzman, were all passengers in a loaner Mercedes from Aloha. Defendant driver Kuka and the rental company are represented by David Pasternak (far right) of the law firm Cartafalsa, Slattery, Turpin & Lenoff. They were traveling northbound when the right-front of their vehicle impacted the left-rear of a livery Lincoln Town Car driven by defendant driver Singh, represented by attorney Robert Giovinazzi (second from right) of the law offices of Nancy L. Isserlis.
The jury ultimately determined that defendant Singh was not negligent, but returned a verdict of 100 percent against the other defendants in the rear-end collision. The damages phase of the trial continued last week.
