It’s one thing for children to star in an original musical. It’s another thing to perform in an original musical in which the dialogue and songs will be entirely in Italian.

Students from the Little Italian Language School of Brooklyn will be doing just that when they present “Il Festival Della Musica Italiana,” an original musical in Italian, on Friday, May 29, in the auditorium of Most Precious Blood Church, 70 Bay 47th St., at 6 p.m.

Sponsored by the church’s Onora Italian Ministry, the show is inspired by Antonio Vivaldi’s famous composition “The Four Seasons.”

Students ranging in age from six to 13 will be performing a variety of Italian classical music compositions, operatic arias and song and dance tunes of the 1950s and 60s. The show will also feature performances by adult guests.

Melena Sofia Mormile will sing “L’ Estate Sta Finendo.” Also featured in the Italian musical celebration will be soprano Gina Ricci singing two of Giaccomo Puccini’s famous arias “Chi il bel Sogno” and “Oh Mio Babbino Caro.” Francesca Cavaliere, an award-winning Italian singer, will also be performing.

Teacher Alberta Gulotta wrote the book and is directing and choreographing the production.

“As a teacher I feel blessed seeing our children develop such a love and appreciation for legendary Italian compositions like Vivaldi’s ‘Le Quattro Stagioni,’ and the timeless-classic Italian opera arias,” she said in a statement. “One of moving moments of our musical will feature the children performing a magical dance choreographed to the world renown ‘Spring Movement’ of the great 17th Century composer’s Antonio Vivaldi’s composition ‘The Four Seasons.’ For centuries Italian music has been beloved around the world. And watching our students bring this incredible music and classic songs of the 1950s and 1960s to life onstage with their joyous voices and dancing will touch the heart strings of everyone in attendance, rest assured.”

Established in 2004, the Little Italian Language School is located at 7921 Seventh Ave. in Dyker Heights. The curriculum includes Italian language classes as well as culinary arts courses for children between the ages of six months and 13 years.
