From restaurants and bars to landmarks and museums, “Subway Adventure Guide: New York City” explores more than three dozen end-of-the-line destinations spread throughout the five boroughs and all 30 subway lines.

Authors Kyle Knoke (Allen/James Design) and Amy Plitt (TimeOut NYConde Nast Traveler) will take part in a book launch and discussion at Downtown Brooklyn’s New York Transit Museum on May 12 at 6:30 p.m.

In “Subway Adventure Guide: New York City,” residents and tourists alike gain access to off-the-beaten-path adventures in a compact guidebook format and see the New York City that’s not featured on postcards sold all over Manhattan.

Each of the destinations included in this guide, from restaurants and bars to landmarks and museums, are highlighted in great detail by Knoke and Plitt — what to order, what to see, and how to get there. Each location is organized by the more than 30 subway lines that run through the city, including handy maps with street names.

Among the gems of the city featured in the book are Bay Ridge, “The Junction” at Flatbush and Nostrand avenues, Van Cortlandt Park and Far Rockaway.

Tickets for the book launch are $5, and the event includes a book signing.
