Eighth-graders at St. Patrick Catholic Academy celebrated their graduation on Friday, June 12 with a special mass and brunch in the morning and a commencement ceremony later that evening. There was plenty to celebrate, as the Class of 2015 was awarded a total of $600,000 in scholarships to local high schools.

“Graduation is a perfect opportunity to remind us that dreams do come true,” Principal Andrea D’Emic said. “Parents have hopes and dreams for their children from the moment they are born, and then spend a lifetime working and sacrificing to make those dreams come true. We, once again with great pride, celebrate as a community the realization of those dreams with our Nursery and Pre-K Stepping Up, Kindergarten Graduation and Eighth Grade Commencement Ceremonies.”

Following the Friday morning mass at St. Patrick Church, graduates and their families enjoyed brunch in the Aldo Bruschi Auditorium, during which certificates were presented to graduates for their various accomplishments and extracurricular activities. Activities for which certificates were presented included the School Chorus, Orchestra, Girl Scouts, the Oratorical Club, the Drama Club and the Sports Program. Graduates were also recognized for their academic achievements, receiving certificates for the National Junior Honor Society, Aquinas Enrichment Program and Principal’s List.

Following the presentation of certificates, the Class of 2015 made a special presentation to the faculty and staff of St. Patrick Catholic Academy, presenting each teacher with a rose. Eighth-grade teacher Gina Keenan was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, as was Principal D’Emic.
