The Nathan R. Sobel-Kings County American Inn of Court held its annual gala at the Morso Restaurant in Manhattan on Monday night, where it named Hon. Jenny Rivera as an honorary Inn master and swore in its new officers.

“Thank you very, very much,” Rivera said after she was presented with a plaque by outgoing President David M. Chidekel and incoming President Hon. Arthur Schack. “I’m honored to be here. It’s good to be reconnected to Kings County, having been a former Brooklynite.”

Chidekel also honored the Inn’s administrator Lucinda DiSalvo for the tireless work that she puts into the group.

“All of you know and see this beautiful smiling face every month,” Chidekel said. “We have a presentation for Lucy — it’s just a token of our appreciation.”

As incoming president, Judge Schack took a moment to thank Chidekel for his time as the group’s president.

“David is a lawyer of excellence; he has brought honor to this Inn through his leadership and has improved the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar within the county of Kings,” Schack said. “David, thank you.”

Hon. Gerard H. Rosenberg, one of the Inn of Court’s founding members, swore in Schack as the 12th president in the group’s history. He also swore in Hon Miriam Cyrulnik as the president-elect, Hon. Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix as the counselor, Steven Goolnick as the treasurer and Victoria Lombardi as the secretary.

“I want to thank Judge Rosenberg for swearing me in,” Schack said. “I’ve known Jerry for 40 years, so I think it’s appropriate, as one of our founders, that he was able to do this. I’m going to try to continue the Inn and its traditions of presenting CLE, and also as a vehicle of collegiality between the bench and the bar. I think we’re going to have a great year.”
