In Brooklyn writer Avery Hastings’ debut book, “Feuds,” she created a severely segregated world in which humanity has divided itself in two categories: “Priors,” genetically modified super-humans and “Imps,” imperfect humans. When Davis Morrow, a Prior and fiercely ambitious ballerina, meets Cole, an Imp who fights in the underground fighting rings, they have no idea their love could be the only thing to save Davis’ world from the deadly Narxis virus.
Now, in “Torn” (July 21, St. Martin’s Griffin), the final installment of the “Feuds” duology, Davis and Cole must battle seemingly insurmountable forces to find their way back home — and back to each other.
Determined to escape from “TOR-N,” a corrupt Narxis research center, Davis meets another recovered patient, Mercer, whose sweet smile and quirky sense of humor give her hope in humanity again—and a way out. As they make a perilous journey seeking clues that could lead to a cure, Davis’ and Mercer’s friendship begins to evolve into something more… but she’s still struggling to let go of her feelings for Cole, whom she believes is dead.
