Age has its charms — if you’re a historic building.

What could be more alluring than the mysterious pre-Civil War hospital at the edge of the Brooklyn Navy Yard?

It’s a bit decrepit, which just adds to its glamor.

The other day, we went with David Ehrenberg, the president and CEO of Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp., to look at the grand, colonnaded hospital and its companion buildings at the Naval Annex, as this part of the famed former shipbuilding complex is called.
