Arts in the Gardens, a series presented by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), this summer will feature a unique music program called “Garden Grooves.” The events will offer a different musical selection each Wednesday in August in different gardens in the borough. Many of these artists have previously appeared as part of the BAMcafé Live series.

As with all of the Arts in the Gardens events, these concerts are free, open to the public and meant to bring the community together to enjoy performing arts in a natural, outdoor setting.

Arts in the Gardens will also present a two-night dance performance of “Prey” by Red Hook’s Cora Dance on Aug. 6 and 13 at 8 p.m. at the Gil Hodges Community Garden (534 Carroll St.). Using the arts to foster common ground among diverse people, Cora Dance returns to explore the themes of good intentions and burden in this episodic dance experience. A discussion with the performers will follow the show.
