Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, who were the creative team behind such Broadway shows as “Ragtime” and “Once On This Island,” wrote “Seussical the Musical,” bringing to life favorite Dr. Seuss characters.

Horton the Elephant will be played by Adam Elsayed. Jessica Sparacio is playing the Cat in the Hat.

Other cast members include Annika Krupczyn, Ashley Kelly and Amanda Summa.

The show is directed by Jason Gotay, who starred in “Spiderman Turn Off The Dark” on Broadway and appeared in NBC’s live version of “Peter Pan.” The choreographer is Lane Halperin and the musical director is Justin Ward Weber.

The cast is made up of kids from Bay Ridge, according to Narrows Community Theater officials. The company presents a show featuring local youths each summer.

The story of “Seussical” follows Horton the Elephant, who must protect his friends in the invisible world of the Whos from the naysayers of the Jungle of Nool. He is also entrusted with the task of guarding the abandoned egg of Lazy Mayzie, an irresponsible bird. Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant in the story.

Tickets at the door are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and students and $15 for children 12 and under.
