Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) is inviting patrons to share their favorite library reads with the world through the checkoutBKLYN campaign.

Bibliophiles can post photos with beloved books (or other media) on Instagram and Twitter, with the hashtag #checkoutBKLYN, for a chance to be featured on the checkoutBKLN website alongside bookworms like author Kazuo Ishiguro, actor Benicio del Toro, NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray and many others.

“By participating in checkoutBKLYN, patrons can recommend books they love and get a glimpse of what other New Yorkers are reading,” said BPL President and CEO Linda Johnson, who posed for a checkoutBKLYN photo with Ursula Hegi’s “Stones from the River.”

On the website, visitors can view recommendations from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, author Emma Straub, Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive and Brooklyn Public Library staff members, among others. Participants can take photos wherever they like, including the new checkoutBKLYN selfie station on the first floor of Central Library at Grand Army Plaza.

Curious about the book Benicio del Toro considers his favorite? Visit www.bklynlibrary.org/checkoutBKLYN for details.
