Volunteers at Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) are bringing their love of reading to Kings County kids. The group aims to bring good cheer to stressful clinic settings while supporting early literacy by empowering parents, children and caregivers to read together and add to the collections in their home libraries. The volunteers, who come from every corner of Kings County and beyond, have committed to at least two clinic visits per month, with each visit lasting two hours.

The program is actively seeking volunteers to visit local pediatric clinics in Downtown Brooklyn, Greenwood/Kensington, Crown Heights, Bedford Stuyvesant and Sunset Park. Brooklynites interested in volunteering can call Brooklyn Public Library at (718) 230-2406, or complete an online volunteer application at BPL’s website.
