Will the Bossert be back in operation before the snows fly in B’LYN?

Last March, an owner of the Brooklyn Heights Historic District hotel at 98 Montague St. told us he was aiming for a summer re-opening. It’s August now, in case you hadn’t noticed, and the historic property is not yet ready to receive guests.

David Bistricer and Joseph Chetrit are making the Bossert, long known as the Waldorf-Astoria of Brooklyn, into a luxury boutique hotel after years of ownership by the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The religious group had used it as lodging for its out-of-town members.

The other day, Bistricer offered an upbeat but ever-so-brief email response to our queries about the renovation project.
