Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis is teaming up with the organization Pet Lovers United Together as One (PLUTO) to host a pet adoption event at the Third Avenue Festival in Bay Ridge on Oct. 4.

Malliotakis (R-C-Bay Ridge-Staten Island) is encouraging all prospective pet owners to stop by the PLUTO van on Third Avenue between 73rd and 74th streets from noon to 3 p.m. to find a loveable pet to adopt.

The assemblymember is the owner of two dogs that she adopted.

“There are many animals in our communities that are in dire need of companionship and a forever home,” Malliotakis said. “It is a true pleasure to once again host an adoption station at this year’s Third Avenue Festival with the people from PLUTO. As a dog owner, I know firsthand how special the bond is between owners and pets, and I am hopeful that this year we will be able to connect many of these lovable pets with the families they have been looking for.”

All of the animals that will be available for adoptions have been spayed or neutered, according to Malliotakis. The animals are also up to date on all of their necessary vaccinations, she said.

Pets that are in need of a loving home can be seen on PLUTO’s website at www.plutorescue.petfinder.org.
