The country observed a day of mourning Thursday after a deadly attack by Islamic militants who stormed a northwestern university the day before, gunning down students and teachers and spreading terror before the four gunmen were slain by the military.

SRI LANKA — Dancers Perform at Festival: Fireball dancers perform during the inauguration of the annual ‘Duruthu Perahera’ festival at Kelani Buddhist temple in the outskirts of Colombo on Wednesday.
