Metropolitan Commercial Bank organizes winter coat drive

Metropolitan Commercial Bank, which has branches in Manhattan, Long Island and in Borough Park, has organized a winter coat drive to help needy families. Boxes have been set up in all of the bank’s branches to allow customers to drop off coats.

The Borough Park branch is located at 5101 13th Ave.

The bank is encouraging its customers to visit its banking centers during business hours to donate new or slightly used coats to the effort. The coats collected in Brooklyn and Manhattan will be delivered to New York Cares. Coats collected at the bank’s Great Neck banking center will be delivered to Long Island Cares for distribution throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.

“Metropolitan Commercial Bank has a long tradition of giving back to the communities we serve. It is especially gratifying during this holiday season to be able to help provide warmth and the hope that these coats represent to so many families in and around our communities,” Senior Vice President Laura Capra said in a statement. “We asked our employees to help us jump-start our coat drive. Their response has been overwhelming; just another example of how Metropolitan Commercial Bank employees rally together to help make a difference for those less fortunate.”
