Golden sponsors free mammograms
Senator teams up with American Italian Cancer Foundation
Women should not let a lack of money stand in the way of a potentially lifesaving medical test, said state Sen. Marty Golden, who announced that he is working in partnership with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation to provide free digital mammograms and clinical breast exams in his Senate district.
The tests will be conducted at two locations on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
The foundation’s Mobile Care Clinic van will be parked outside Golden’s district office at 3604 Quentin Road in Marine Park from 9 a.m. to noon and then outside his district office at 7408 Fifth Ave. in Bay Ridge from 2 p.m. to 4: 30 p.m.
Women over the age of 40 who are New York City residents and who have not had a mammogram in the past year are eligible to be seen by the medical professionals.
