Brooklyn Chamber President and CEO Carlo A. Scissura to Become Head of New York Building Congress
Brooklyn Chamber President and CEO Carlo A. Scissura has accepted a new position as President and CEO of the New York Building Congress. Effective December 19, Andrew Hoan, the Chamber’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff, will succeed Scissura as President and CEO.
Scissura has been President and CEO of the Chamber since September 2012. During his tenure, membership grew by roughly 200 percent to a total of over 2,100 members, the Chamber launched innovative new programs including Chamber on the Go, Explore Brooklyn and Brooklyn-Made, and the organization’s role as an advocate for Brooklyn and its business community expanded substantially.
Hoan has served as Chief of Staff since 2013. As the Chamber’s second-in-command, he has had a crucial role in the organization’s renaissance. Hoan first worked with Scissura in the Office of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
