Catholic Lawyers honor Lucy DiSalvo during Shrove Tuesday event
The Catholic Lawyers Guild Diocese of Brooklyn celebrated Shrove Tuesday with a Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights followed by a feast at the Brooklyn Bar Association honoring the group’s Executive Director Lucinda DiSalvo.
One-hundred-and-fifteen guests attended the celebration for DiSalvo, packing the bar association building. Organizers did not expect a crowd so large and had to make a second trip to Marco Polo, who catered the event, so that everyone could partake in the feast.
“Thank you all for attending and thank you very much for your continued support,” said Hon. Lizette Colon, president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild. “It’s wonderful, and I know the reason that everyone is here is because we are honoring the incomparable Lucy DiSalvo.”
DiSalvo has worked in the court system since 1999. She is beloved by many within the Brooklyn legal community as she contributes her time and efforts not just to the Catholic Lawyers Guild, but to the Columbian Lawyers, the Nathan R. Sobel Inn of Court, the Kings County Association of Secretaries, Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert and the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association as well. DiSalvo is so generous with her time that there is no mistaking who “Lucy” is when she is referenced in any of the Brooklyn courthouses.
