St. Francis College will welcome alumna and author Lisa Racioppo, ’92, to talk to current students about her career in advertising, her switch to nursing and her memoir that tells the tale, “From Brooklyn and Back Again” (PanAm), on Wednesday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the Maroney Forum for Arts, Culture & Education (180 Remsen St., Room 7402).
“The Brooklyn girl in me had fun providing the reader with glimpses into the art of junkyard sports, opposite side of the street parking and the many intricacies of just plain living on the block,” said Racioppo. “I’ve written the book in a way that hopefully captures a variety of snapshots of the eclectic lifestyle moments I’ve experienced, many from a by-gone Brooklyn, others from my numerous travel experiences.”
Racioppo was a communication arts major at St. Francis who spent more than 20 years working in advertising, first in Manhattan, then Chicago and now back in New York again. The move back to New York was accompanied by another unexpected change, a nursing degree.
