Sykes was arrested during a manhunt after the stabbings at a Ramada Inn hotel used as homeless housing.

Twenty-six-year-old Rebecca Cutler, her 19-month-old daughter Ziana and 4-month-old Maiyah died in the Feb. 10 attack. Sykes was Maiyah’s father.

Another child, a 2-year-old named Miracle, survived.

Authorities say Cutler was stabbed more than 40 times and the little girls about nine to 11 times each.
