Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 75th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1937, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Milk Price War Looms as State Rule Nears End.”

The article focused on a committee proposing that the state end milk price-fixing.

“Removal of the mandatory minimum prices will throw the New York City and other urban markets wide open to competition,” the Eagle reported. “Observers believe the deals, particularly the smaller ones, will surge into battle for their share of the trade.”
