Bojan Bogdanovic poured in a career-high 44 points Tuesday night, lifting the Nets to a 131-114 victory over the league-worst Philadelphia 76ers in front of 14,560 fans at Downtown’s Barclays Center.

Bogdanovic started out hot and kept up the pace throughout the evening, helping Brooklyn avert what would have been an embarrassing season-series loss to the hapless Sixers.

He connected on 17-of-27 shots, including a 4-of-9 effort from 3-point range, knocked down 6-of-7 free throws and grabbed eight rebounds in 37 scintillating minutes.

“I started the game with a couple of easy free throws, easy buckets on the fast break. I had 15 or 17 [points] after the first quarter,” said Bogdanovic, who established a new Nets single-game scoring mark at the state-of-the-art arena.

“So I realized that tonight is maybe my night to get a career-high in the NBA,” he added. “I tried [for 50], but then I missed a couple of shots, and then I was like, 40 is good too.”

Brook Lopez had 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Sean Kilpatrick, new general manager Sean Marks’ first pick-up since assuming Billy King’s former post, added 19 points for Brooklyn, which settled for a 2-2 season split with the Sixers.

“We just came out aggressive and held it for the majority of the game,” Lopez said. “They made a few runs, but we always answered back. For the most part, we were unselfish with the ball.”

The Nets will be back in action Thursday in Chicago.
