Gov. Cuomo, NY lawmakers aim for state budget deal by Friday

Time is ticking on a budget deal as state lawmakers and Gov. Andrew Cuomo attempt to find compromise on the minimum wage, a paid family leave proposal and other key items in the massive spending blueprint.
Lawmakers hope to have a new budget in place by Friday, when the new fiscal year begins.
The biggest issues to be decided include Cuomo’s plan to phase-in a $15 minimum wage as well as the Democratic governor’s plan to establish a paid family leave program for workers who need to care for a sick loved-one or new child.
