Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 91st day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1924, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Young Girl Shot; Police Seeking Brother Who Fled.”

The article focused on a 20-year-old girl who went to the hospital for a punctured lung after her brother shot her during an argument.

“Her brother, who lives at 118 Cumberland St., was anxious about her and upbraided her when she reached home,” the Eagle reported. “A quarrel ensued and, according to the police, the brother drew a revolver, shot at her once, laid his weapon on the table and ran off.”
