On Stage at Kingsborough, the performing arts series at Kingsborough Community College, will present The Doo Wop Project on Friday, April 15, at the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center, at 8 p.m.

The Doo Wop Project features backstage stories and songs performed by Broadway veterans, including Tony nominee Charl Brown (“Motown The Musical”), Dominic Nolfi (“Jersey Boys”), Dominic Scaglione Jr. (“Jersey Boys”), Dwayne Cooper (“Motown The Musical”) and John Dias (“Jersey Boys”).

“The Doo Wop Project is a very uplifting and just-plain-fun evening of classic doo-wop music, Smokey Robinson hits and some very inventive doo-wop arrangements of contemporary songs,” stated Anna Becker, executive director of On Stage at Kingsborough. “What makes this show even more exciting than your average doo-wop concert is that every performer is either a star of Broadway’s ‘Jersey Boys’ or ‘Motown The Musical.’ This is one outstanding night of entertainment!”

The Doo Wop Project is not affiliated with the Broadway musical “Motown The Musical” or “Jersey Boys.” The line-up of performers is also subject to change, according to On Stage at Kingsborough.

The box office is located on the campus of Kingsborough Community College at 2001 Oriental Blvd. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
