Townsquare Expos, producer of several expo events in the tri-state region, recently hosted Trade Brooklyn at the New York Marriot at Brooklyn Bridge, welcoming an estimated 2,500 people to the business-to-business trade show for an exhibition and an opportunity to share ideas. The annual business trade show proved to be a catalyst for business cross marketing and promotion as well as networking, according to producers, who said the event featured business growth seminars that drew business people from the five boroughs and beyond.

Trade Brooklyn featured an interactive business breakfast led by networking expert Scott Eisenberg, CEO and founder of Swap the Biz. Other speakers throughout the day included Matt Goerke, inventor of the Memory Switch Program, who shared memory retention techniques designed to help professionals.

Roberta Reardon, acting commissioner of the New York State Department of Labor, offered a briefing on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s regional budget. Bill Corbett, Jr. of Corbett Public Relations, a personal branding and public relations expert, discussed marketing strategies. The energy at this year’s show demonstrated that the entrepreneur spirit is very much alive and well in Brooklyn, producers said.

“Trade Brooklyn has grown alongside the borough of Brooklyn. The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Brooklyn and our goal each year and with each show is to play an integral part in the business marketing and growth. Businesspeople meet here face to face and introduce their products and services. This allows their business to grow and thrive. We see the show as true microcosm of the business community in Brooklyn,” said Townsquare Expos Director Jonathan Levin.

Brooklyn is the fastest growing borough in New York City and the largest in terms of population, Levin said. Trade Brooklyn explored and celebrated the entrepreneur spirit and explosive business rebirth occurring in the area with a dynamic kick-off breakfast followed by business to business seminars and learning opportunities. More than 20 seminars focusing on such topics as building scalable businesses, business succession planning, social media management and protecting business owners from cybercrimes were held. Trade Brooklyn partnered with business coaches from the Small Business Administration’s SCORE program who met with dozens of business owners to discuss business challenges.
