Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 113th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1918, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Ask Dental Clinic for Every School.”

The article focused on a local school board meeting at which several resolutions were adopted.

“Chairman John H. Leich declared that dental clinics are as necessary for the health of school children as dispensaries,” the Eagle reported. “[A resolution was adopted requesting] the establishment of a dental clinic in every school at city expense.”
