Bishop Kearney HS offers scholarship in slain cop’s name
Det. Brian Moore’s mom is member of Class of 1976
Bishop Kearney High School is paying a special tribute to the memory of an NYPD detective killed in the line of duty.
School officials announced on April 22 that they have established a scholarship in honor of detective Brian Moore who was killed while working an undercover operation in Queens in 2015. He was 25 years old.
Moore’s mother Irene is a 1976 graduate of Bishop Kearney High School.
Her classmates approached the school’s administration with the idea of establishing a scholarship in Moore’s name and were met with enthusiasm, according to officials.
