Members of Brooklyn’s legal community held a party at 132 Lounge in Brooklyn Heights last week honoring Nina Kurtz on her recent retirement.

Kurtz, who is married to Kings County Supreme Court Justice Donald Kurtz is also the daughter of retired Supreme Court Justice and former Administrative Judge Abraham G. Gerges, worked since the 1980s as a court attorney referee.

Kurtz was upbeat about her retirement at the June 21 party and told friends that she’s looking forward to it.

“I’m just having fun and not thinking about the future,” She said. “Life is a journey and not a destination. I’m not leaving anyone behind. I live a block away. I walk my dogs past the courthouse every day, so I’m sure I’ll still see everyone.”
