Two others charged in slaying of Cuomo’s aide

Two more men have been charged with mortally wounding an aide to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the hours before Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade last year, authorities said Wednesday.

Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson announced the indictments of 21-year-old Tyshawn Crawford and 24-year-old Keith Luncheon, both of Brooklyn. Also indicted was 24-year-old Micah Alleyne, of Queens. He was arrested last month.

They were indicted on a number of charges in the death of Carey Gabay, including murder and criminal possession of a weapon. They face up to 25 years in prison. A fourth man was indicted in October on weapons possession charges.

Gabay, 43, was shot in the head in September during a pre-dawn party celebrating the parade. Authorities said shooting had broken out between rival gangs, and Gabay was walking on the street with his brother and some friends when he was hit.

Gabay was a son of Jamaican immigrants and graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He served as an assistant counsel for Cuomo starting in 2011 and was appointed first deputy counsel for New York’s economic development agency in 2015

Crawford’s attorney has declined to comment. Luncheon’s attorney hasn’t returned a message. Alleyne’s lawyer said he was confident in his case.
