New York Times bestselling author Lauren Weisberger, author of the famed novel “The Devil Wears Prada,” is coming to Brooklyn on July 13 to read from her novel “The Singles Game” at an event hosted by the Bookmark Shoppe at Cebu Bar & Bistro (8801 Third Ave. in Bay Ridge at 7 p.m.)

“The Singles Game” (Simon & Schuster) is a dishy tell-all about Charlotte “Charlie” Silver, a beautiful tennis prodigy who, after changing coaches, suddenly makes headlines on and off the court.

Silver excelled at tennis early, coached by her father, a former player himself, and soon became one of the top juniors in the world. When she left UCLA to turn pro, she joined the world’s best tennis athletes who travel 11 months a year, competing without mercy for Grand Slam titles and Page Six headlines.

After Silver suffers a disastrous loss and injury on Wimbledon’s Centre Court, she fires her longtime female coach and hires Todd Feltner, a legend of the men’s tour, who is famous for grooming champions.  He is determined to change her good girl image — both on the court and off — and transform her into a ruthless competitor, a “warrior princess,” who will not only win matches but also score magazine covers and seven-figure endorsement deals.

It’s not just Silver’s professional life that is getting a makeover. Her not-so-secret affair with the hottest male player in the world, Marco Vallejo, has people whispering, and it seems like only a matter of time before the tabloids and gossip blogs close in on the details

Weisberger, an avid tennis fan, did extensive research for “The Singles Games,” including backstage access to major tournaments such as Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. What she once did for magazines in “The Devil Wears Prada,” Weisberger now does for the elite world of tennis, taking readers beyond the court.

“The Devil Wears Prada” was published in 40 languages and made into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Weisberger’s four previous novels, “Everyone Worth Knowing,” “Last Night at Chateau Marmont,” “Chasing Harry Winston” and “Revenge Wears Prada” were all New York Times bestsellers.
