Members of the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association (BRLA) visited MCU Park in Coney Island on Tuesday night to watch the Brooklyn Cyclones sweep a doubleheader against the rival Staten Island Yankees. The event was a big hit with members; the group quickly sold out the 75 seats it booked.

The outing was organized by President-Elect Steven Spinelli, who said that he wanted to start off his year as president with a fun event to help members get to know each other better.

“This is my first event as president, and I wanted to do something fun,” Spinelli said. “One thing about our bar association is that aside from doing work for the community and getting together to discuss ideas and elements of the law, we’re known for being a tight-knit group with an extreme amount of camaraderie between the members.”

Spinelli said that when he ordered 75 tickets for the event, he had no idea they would sell out so quickly.

“I’m so impressed that so many of my colleagues and friends came out to support me tonight,” Spinelli said. “We had a great time, we had notable judges and we just want to thank everybody for coming to join us.”

The BRLA was joined by K’Lynn Jackman, the former Young Nala on Broadway’s “Lion King,” who sang the national anthem; as well as Hon. Patricia DiMango from CBS’s Emmy-nominated court-TV show “Hot Bench.” Judges Hon. Matthew A. Sciarrino Jr., Hon. Joseph Maltese and Hon. Vincent Del Giudice were also in attendance.
