While this problem will certainly not be a new Bourne segment in Matt Damon’s successful movie series, it has been making headlines anyway.

The prestigious Saint Ann’s school in Brooklyn Heights has turned away Damon’s three daughters for enrollment simply because the school is fully booked for the upcoming year, according to a report in the New York Post.

Damon, who is planning to relocate from Hollywood to New York City, was hoping to place his daughters in the exclusive Brooklyn school. According to the Post, the yearly tuition at Saint Ann’s runs between $36,080 and $42,555 per year, depending on the grade. The school offers classes from pre-K through high school.

Saint Ann’s is a private institution that was founded in 1965 in the basement of Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church. The school places great value on individuality and refuses to give numerical grades for academic performance. Students are offered the freedom of a flexible curriculum and are encouraged to advance and excel independently. Celebrities favor Saint Ann’s because of its emphasis on the arts, such as dance, music and theater.

Saint Ann’s has an impressive history. The successful private school was founded by the late Stanley Bosworth.

Among his innovative ideas was the notion that multiple choice tests, by which generations have been measured for college admission, should be given to very young students — even second-graders — on a regular basis. This way, when high schoolers encounter the SATs, the tests are much less intimidating than they would be for students who might be seeing that format for the first time.

As a result of Bosworth’s innovative program, Saint Ann’s has consistently led the nation with its top-tier student placement into Ivy League colleges.

Celebrities have long gravitated to this elite school; notable alumni include actors Jennifer Connelly, Lena Dunham and Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amuri; artist Jean-Michael Basquiat; fashion designer Zac Posen and journalist John Pomfret.
