On a recent scorching summer Saturday, thousands of revelers gathered on the shores of the Gowanus Canal in Red Hook to attend BangOn!NYC’s Elements Music and Arts Festival.

The debauchery-filled nine-hour celebration, which took place around the perimeter of the deserted Red Hook Grain Terminal, boasted fire breathers, aerial acrobats, a wakeboarder performing stunts in the toxic waters of the Gowanus Canal and some of the music industry’s top DJs.

Partygoers decked themselves out in elaborate costumes and were treated to lively beats, over-the-top performances and Brooklyn-made food and drinks.

There were five differently themed stages, large-scale art installations, sculptures, 3-D projection mapping, art cars, rides, slides, circus performances and exotic clothing and jewelry vendors.

The fairgrounds looked less like an abandoned industrial lot in Brooklyn and more like a combination of Carnival and Burning Man.

BangOn!NYC has established itself as a staple of the Brooklyn music scene. The event production company strives to bring in a stellar lineup of DJs and artists and to create an immersive, interactive and innovative experience for its guests.
