One of her first official duties as the new head of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP) will bring Regina Myer to the podium on Wednesday to open the second annual “Make It In Brooklyn” Summit.

Brooklyn’s boom in real estate, tech and transportation innovation will be the key subject matter of the day-long summit that begins with an all-star networking breakfast at City Point, 1 DeKalb Ave., in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn renaissance.

After Myer presents her opening remarks at 10 a.m., two of New York’s most prolific builders — MaryAnne Gilmartin from Forest City Ratner and Michael Stern from JDS Development Group — will discuss Brooklyn’s changing skyline and the “race for the sky.”

This will be followed at 11:20 a.m. by Friends of the Brooklyn Queens Connector’s Ya-Ting Liu, who will talk about the transportation project that has the potential to transform the innovation corridor along the Brooklyn-Queens waterfront.

At 11:30 a.m. guests will enjoy a sampling of products crafted by Brooklyn’s top food entrepreneurs while networking with fellow summit attendees.

The keynote speaker, VaynerMedia Chief Heart Officer Claude Silver, will deliver a talk 12:30 p.m.

At 12:45 p.m., Brooklyn Design Development, UX and Biz Dev innovators will discuss what it takes to scale a business. Speakers include Sherine Kazim (Huge), Dana Mauriello (Etsy), JB Osborne (Red Antler), Marco Perry (Pensa) and Moderator Jacob Weisberg (Slate Group).

At 1:35 p.m., experts from the Venture Capital community will advise on how to raise funding for startups. Panelists include Peter Boyce II (General Catalyst), Shawn Cheng (Vayner / RSE), Michael Duda (Bullish), John Frankel (ff Venture Capital), Rachel Haot (1776) and Moderator Will Oremus (Slate Group).

At 6 p.m. at CoLab-Factory (14 Dekalb Ave.), attendees will have the opportunity to support four Brooklyn-based entrepreneurs pitching for funding at the fifth and largest “Make It in Brooklyn” pitch contest. The entrepreneurs will pitch a panel of judges on why their startup should receive $5,000 in funding. Networking, drinks and snacks will be included.
