Catholic Lawyers Guild continues annual Shrove Tuesday tradition
Honors ‘Rising Star’ Maria Aragona During Luncheon
The Catholic Lawyers Guild of Brooklyn continued a tradition that goes back to its inception with its annual Shrove Tuesday Luncheon that marks the beginning of the Lenten season.
The current tradition includes meeting at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn Heights for mass before the group moves to the Brooklyn Bar Association building on Remsen Street for lunch. Each year it honors one of its members at the luncheon, and this year’s honoree was Maria Aragona.
Aragona is a law clerk for Justice Kenneth Sherman and is also a trustee of the Catholic Lawyers Guild. Guild President Hon. Lizette Colon called her a “rising star” in the organization and explained how it was an easy choice to pick her as this year’s honoree.
