The steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall were covered with 1,800 tiny candles on Sunday evening in a vigil to protest President Donald Trump’s executive order banning people from six Muslim-majority countries. Organized by Amnesty International’s Brooklyn chapter, the 1,800 candles were meant to symbolize the population of 180,000,000 people who live in Iran, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Shown: Sue Rissberger, co-coordinator of Amnesty Brooklyn, said that the president’s second executive order has been brought to higher courts and litigation could be protracted.
