“We are excited to showcase our new corporate headquarters and reaffirm our commitment to our hometown of Brooklyn, New York. Dime has been in Brooklyn since 1864, and our decision to relocate from Williamsburg to Brooklyn Heights allowed us to maintain our link to this vibrant growing city, keep 145 jobs in the borough and maintain our standing as the largest bank headquartered in Brooklyn,” Mahon said.

Adams spoke about the Dime Bank’s rich history, calling it the oldest bank in Brooklyn. Also at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Vincent F. Pagliano, Dime chairman; Stu Lubow, senior executive vice president and chief commercial banking officer; Rob Volino, senior executive vice president and COO; attorney Steve Cohn; and former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

Mahon told the Brooklyn Eagle, “We are thrilled to be here at One Pierrepont Plaza, and it was great for us to have the borough president come over and help us inaugurate the place today, as well as former Borough President Marty Markowitz, who also loves the Dime.”

Dime Bank currently has 27 branches throughout Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Nassau County.

The event was followed by a luncheon and cake-cutting ceremony. The cake, created by Charlie Tola of Lulu’s Bakery, was in the shape of a Dime Savings Bank.
