Also, a local reverend offers his two cents on the Bedford-Union Armory redevelopment, and researchers insist it’s more efficient for riders to stand side by side rather than walk up the escalator…Plus, WaPo drops a guide to pay negotiation for the ladies, and the search for the ninth planet yields some results.

The Rundown

~STOMPING GROUNDS: How important is it to you that your new Brooklyn District Attorney live in the borough? Patricia Gatling is vying to replace the late Kenneth Thompson, but city records show that she has resided in Brooklyn for just over three months. (via the NY Observer)

~ERIC LANDAU TO LEAD BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK: Mayor de Blasionominated Landau to serve as the president of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, which means that he will spearhead the park’s 85-acre expansion, among other projects. Plus, BBP’s spring and summer schedule is out, and includes “Movies With a View,” beer gardens and ice cream. Summertime: so close, yet so far… (via the Brooklyn Daily Eagle)

~COUNCILMEN FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT (TO PARTY!): Brooklyn councilmen Rafael Espinal and Antonio Reynoso are backing a bill that would strike down a Prohibition-era Cabaret law that prevents patrons from grooving in bars and restaurants without fearing a crackdown from the city’s dance police. Background: it’s widely believed the law was put in place to target the city’s black jazz clubs. Also, a Village Voice op-ed eviscerates the law. (via Brooklyn Paper and the Village Voice)

~BROOKLYN RISING: A new mixed-use high-rise on Flatbush Avenue will bring two new schools, 900 apartments and offices and retail space to the area, and Tishman Speyer makes a 620,000-square-foot debut intoDowntown Brooklyn. (via DNAinfo and the NYT)

~NO SHOW: City officials didn’t show when 200 NYCHA tenants requested their presence at St. Barbara’s Church in Bushwick on Sunday to discuss repairs needed at the Hope Gardens complex. A spokeswoman cited tight budget concerns with paying a rep overtime to attend. (via DNAinfo)

~SHOUT-OUT TO BROOKLYN ARTISTS: Brooklyn artists are repping the borough with works in the 78th Whitney Biennial, the museum’s first in its new location. Highlights include a giant industrial saw blade, fake stained-glass windows and chrome chameleons, among other works. You can catch the exhibition through June 11. (via the Brooklyn Daily Eagle)

~OP-ED: HOW TO SUCCEED AT THE BEDFORD-UNION ARMORY: “Here’s one thing I know for sure: If we kill the deal, we won’t get any more affordable housing. We will get nothing. No rec center for our youth, no office space for our nonprofits and no housing for low- and middle-income families. The armory will simply sit vacant for many more years to come. We can’t afford to lose this opportunity. Let’s work together to make the new Bedford-Union Armory a reality for our Crown Heights community.” (Rev. Dr. Daryl G. Bloodsaw for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
