THE BROOKLYN HISTORICAL SOCIETY (BHS) WILL HOST “BRINGING TRUTH Back: Reporting Facts in a Post-Truth Era” tonight at 6:30 p.m. What does it mean to report the news in the age of “alternative facts”? What is the future of modern journalism in a contentious media landscape amid the current strained relations between the White House and the press? BHS will explore these questions and others with a panel including Laura McGann, deputy managing editor of the Politics and Policy desk at Vox; and Nicole Hemmer, political historian and author of “Messengers of the Right: Conservative Media and the Transformation of American Politics.” The talk will be moderated by Sopan Deb, culture writer for The New York Times and a former embedded reporter on the 2016 Republican presidential campaign.
