VIDEO: Police seek public’s help ID’ing perps in violent Brooklyn Heights jewelry store robbery

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying four thugs who carried out a violent robbery on Court Street in Brooklyn Heights during rush hour last week.

Three of the four robbers, wearing construction outfits and masks, can be seen on newly released surveillance video as they hurl over the turnstiles at the Borough Hall station following the robbery. Cops described the perps as four black males.

The heist took place at roughly 5:21 p.m. last Thursday, when three of the men, disguised as workers, burst into Court Jeweler at 60 Court St., between Joralemon and Livingston streets. The fourth man stood outside the store as a lookout.

The robbers brutally pistol-whipped the shop’s 67-year-old proprietor, tied his hands behind his back with zip ties and made off with piles of cash, jewelry and gold. They then fled toward the nearby subway.

One eye witness, Rachel, told the Brooklyn Eagle that she saw one of the perpetrators as he escaped the crime scene.

“He had on a ski mask, and he had a construction hat on top of the ski mask,” she said.

The victim’s face was gushing blood, she added. The shopkeeper was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Court Jeweler was described by a Downtown Brooklyn Partnership posting as an “old school jewelry repair shop that’s serious about the craft with an attention to detail to match.”

Many people who formed a crowd on the street said the attack was a terrible shame.

“That man’s been here for years,” said one bystander, referring to the proprietor. “My mother used to shop here.”

Neighbors said they were worried about what happened to Stella, a rescued German Shepherd who would always sit either on the floor behind the shopkeeper’s feet or in the lower half of his display window.
