Brooklynites get a chance to root for the home team this Monday, June 19 at 7 p.m. when Gowanus resident Jeremy Fassler, a writer for The Daily Banter, will be competing on “Jeopardy!,” the top-rated quiz show on TV.

Fassler, who writes on political topics, told the Brooklyn Eagle on Thursday, “I loved doing it and I feel really lucky to have been chosen to appear on the show.”

Fassler said that when he found out he was going to compete, he prepped for about a month.

“I want to give so much credit to my girlfriend Danica Damplo who helped me prepare by watching the show with me every week and was in the audience for me that day!” he said.

“Jeopardy!” hosted by Alex Trebek, is pre-recorded, so Fassler already knows how his efforts paid off — though he has to stay mum until the show airs.

On Monday, viewers will see if his hard work and Danica’s help prepared him to master intellectual factoids like what animal’s name is derived from the Greek for “river horse,” or which 17th-century master painted “Night Watch.”

The episode can be viewed locally on WABC-TV, or visit Jeopardy.com for more information.
