Tom Selleck’s our neighbor. Sort of.

Actually, the character he plays on CBS TV’s “Blue Bloods,” New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, lives in Bay Ridge with us.

We know that scenes showing the inside of his house — where the Reagan family habitually gathers for Sunday dinner —are filmed on a set. But the 1920s Colonial-style brick house exterior that’s shown on television is a real house at 8070 Harbor View Terrace, on the corner of 82nd Street.

The beautiful property is one example of the suburban residential architecture that proliferates on Bay Ridge blocks nearest the shoreline of New York Harbor. We’ve snapped fresh photos of some of this architectural eye candy’s many variations.

And we’ve taken a fresh photo of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, our neighborhood’s grand span. We can’t offer you a package of stories about Bay Ridge without including at least one picture of the bridge.
