Trial date set for Brownsville man who nearly burned baby to death in bathtub
A Brownsville man who allegedly held his 9-month-old son in scalding hot water until pieces of the child’s skin fell off, will be back in front of a judge in August.
Inside his Pitkin Avenue apartment, Andre Madden allegedly placed his then 9-month-old son in a bathtub, drew the bath and held his son’s arm and shoulder while the child cried and moved around on the morning of Oct. 9, 2016, according to a criminal complaint from the Brooklyn DA’s Office.
About two to three minutes later, the boy’s skin began to fall off and the water turned brown.
The boy’s mother came home and noticed burns on the child and rushed him to the hospital, police said.
