Bed-Stuy man gets three years for cocaine dealing

A Bedford-Stuyvesant man who was part of a 32-person bust for drug dealing and gun violence was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday for selling cocaine.

Keith Adams, a lesser member of the group brought down by late Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson in 2014, pleaded guilty last week to drug dealing charges, according to court documents.

Adams did not wish to make a statement to Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun before he was sentenced at Brooklyn Supreme Court.

He was arrested on Nov. 25, 2014 and charged alongside 31 other people, 12 of them reportedly Gates Avenue Mafia members, according to a Brooklyn DA statement.

The Gates Avenue Mafia members were charged for selling guns, heroin and cocaine around Gates Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, as well as in upstate New York.

The investigation of the drug and gun ring came after 11-year-old Taylonni Mazyck was killed by a bullet in front of her house while nine other shots flew past her in a cross-fire between two groups.

Detectives recovered 29 guns, drugs and $24,000 cash during the investigation.

After his prison term, Adams will have to serve five years’ supervised release.

Various other members of the 2014 bust have yet to be sentenced.
