Community Board 10 will have a lot on its plate when members gather for their first meeting of the season on Sept. 18.

CB10, which represents the interests of residents of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights with city government, will hold its first meeting after a two-month summer break at Shore Hill, 9000 Shore Road, starting at 7:15 p.m.

Members will be discussing a wide variety of issues, including zoning issues in northern Dyker Heights, liquor license applications for restaurants and bars, and possible sites for new street benches.

Board 10 will be voting on whether to recommend that the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) grant liquor licenses or renew liquor licenses for five local restaurants and bars: Tuscany Grill, 8620 Third Ave.; Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant, 7313 Third Ave.; a restaurant owned by Tacos El Nopal Corp. at 8321 Fifth Ave.; Pasty’s Pizzeria, 8814 Third Ave. and Osteria Positano, 10018 Fourth Ave.

The city’s Department of Transportation is planning to install sidewalk benches at a handful of locations within CB10 and the board will vote on whether to endorse the plan. The proposed sites include 9920 Fourth Ave.; 7821 Third Ave.; 8201 Third Ave. and 745 64th St.

The Brian Kaszuba, chairman of the board’s Zoning and Land Use Committee, is expected to offer the board an update on a study his committee is conducting of northern Dyker Heights.

The area the committee is studying is located between Sixth and 14th avenues, from Bay Ridge Parkway to 45th Street.

As part of that study, the committee is looking at the Eighth Avenue Center, a commercial-residential development on the border of Dyker Heights and Sunset Park that is still in the planning stages.

The owners of the property at 6208 Eighth Ave. are seeking to convert the site into a multi-use development that will include an 11-story hotel, a shopping mall, 250 residential apartments, a health care center, a library and a private preschool.

The property, which stretches from Eighth Avenue to Seventh Avenue, between 62nd and 64th streets, is owned by a group of investors that formed an entity known as 62-08 Realty Corp., according to New York City Department of Finance records.

The community board is monitoring the development plans with a watchful eye, Kaszuba said. “We want to look at the impact on traffic, churches, schools and parks. Knowing how big this project is, the board is being proactive,” he recently told the Brooklyn Eagle.

Also at the meeting, Board 10 Chairperson Doris Cruz and District Manager Josephine Beckmann will issue reports to the board on local quality of life issues.
