John Quaglione wins District 43 GOP City Council primary
Candidate Thanks Packed House of Family, Friends and Supporters
It was a rousing victory celebration at the Bay Ridge Manor on Tuesday night, when a proud and beaming state Sen. Marty Golden took the microphone and declared his Deputy Chief of Staff John Quaglione the winning City Council candidate in the Republican primary.
Quaglione entered the room to cheers and applause from his campaign team, supporters and civic leaders. While Democrats in New York City outnumber Republicans by six to one, District 43, which includes Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst, has a strong GOP presence.
Quaglione fought a long, hard battle against his GOP opponents Liam McCabe, a former aide to U.S. Rep. Dan Donovan; Bob Capano, a supermarket manager and adjunct professor; and GOP District Leader Lucretia Regina-Potter.
